The benefits of wireless data capturing are realised by the online connection to the SIGMA database while working at the shelves. All changes made are immediately reflected in the database.
This brings a number of important advantages to the store, e.g. while working at the shelves, theoretical and real stock are compared and registered. This data is used by SIGMA in scheduling items or shelves for perpetual inventory.
During goods receiving, shelf labels can already be printed at the dock, since the database is up-to-date.
In combination with POS registers that timelessly update the SIGMA database, wireless mobile data capturing is the basis for accurate automatic ordering and perpetual inventory.
Since the employee in charge has online access to the SIGMA database, prices changes and miscellaneous movements can be entered into the system as well as write-offs. Lost or damaged shelf labels can be re-printed directly at the shelf, since current data is available on the spot.
In this way the flexibility in the daily operation is substantially increased and, since all data is on hand, unproductive moving between the shelves is eliminated. - Ordering with order proposals
